No, really. Look!
Ended up being a very enjoyable drive (back-to-back twisties for miles) followed by some good BBQ. A healthy majority of the group even managed to avoid getting lost! Thank you Eric for setting everything up, and everyone else for showing up.
Okay, let’s get some glamor shots. Eric with the so-clean-you-could-eat-off-it Focus ST
RPM with the imposing muscle car-esque AMG
StudyStudyStudy with the 2jz swapped, caged Z (“mufflers” lol)
Just-a-scratch helping me represent the colorful car segment with the green on tan 328i
Myself, with the fastest straight line car of the bunch (100 VERY good horses I’ll have you know)
Forgot to take a picture of my car. D’oh!
And last but not least, NojustNo with the G35 sedan! The only person who didn’t have to worry about bottoming out, potholes, rubbing, etc....
Svart Smart, traded in his Smart had a neat little Honda Fit, but had to leave after the drive so I didn’t get a chance to snap a picture at the BBQ joint. As such, the header image was edited to show that you were there in spirit!
Until next time guys! It was good meeting ya

Seven people, all in somewhat sporty cars. Surprisingly good turnout!

And him having a post with both the 2JZ Stang and Aesthetic’s Miata, makes me believe my hunch is correct.

Thank you for posting up pictures! I didn’t take any for some reason (it did seem that everyone was taking them already).
Here is the post I’ve been working on:
The first ever (to my knowledge) Opponaut cruise in western WA (possibly the PNW in general) went off pretty smoothly. Everyone seemed to have a good time, with some spirited driving through the twisties and highly regarded BBQ at the end. There were 7 cars/drivers, with a very Jalop mix of cars and modifications. It was great meeting all of you and I look forward to our next cruise sometime in 2018.
The big mishap was when we split from the Albertson’s parking lot, saying we’d meet at the Shell station on the corner up the road. It turns out that the station had become a Chevron and 3 of the 7 cars left before me, so they ran right by it.
Google Maps shows (we planned to turn at 164th St SE):
Enhance:
Lies.
Oddly, if I don’t search for gas stations, it turns up as a Chevron. Oh, Google.
So group 1 was the C63, Z, Fit, and me. Group 2 was the Miata, 328i, and G35.
We all met up at Snoqualmie Falls after assuming the other group left without us (it was my group that left without group 2, due to incomplete information on multiple sides). Live and learn - line everyone up and set their order before leaving the start location to ensure nobody gets lost. Also, don’t change plans and have a planned gas stop near the start, because some of us guzzle fuel. Not me, mind you - my dash reading went from 26.7mpg to 28.2mpg with 175 miles on the tank before the start. I swear my car cheats somehow because you shouldn’t be able to have that much fun and increase your fuel economy.
Thankfully, AestheticsInMotion took charge and had no problem following the route to get the second group to the falls.
Thank you to everyone for showing up. Hopefully we can make these more frequent and explore some other interesting roads around the region.

Nice, and the weather held out too.
I was going to try to make it, but this summer cold has been kicking my butt, don’t wanna spread it, and I am still pretty tired.

It was awesome. You could hear it from at least a quarter of a mile away. I could hear him before I could see him except on straights (I was the lead car and he was third or fourth in the group).
Very impressive build.

Just a few drizzles. High bridge road was fun (about half of the group had never driven it) and didn’t have much water on the road yet. I think we passed a Mercedes club at some point, there must have been ten SL Roadsters zooming by in the opposite direction right near the falls.
There will be more cruises! Sounds like spring

No worries! Yeah, and there were a few others who were interested but had to decline for various reasons. Seattle area, coming together

The local MBCA group had a meeting in Tacoma today, might have been some people meeting beforehand. I also missed that one due to the cold - it’s an energy-drainer.
Maybe next time will be better, sounds like this one came off better than expected. Could even do a winter meet on a rare dry day, or just deal with damp.

You could set one up for your area... I organized this one so we could all get out and have some fun.
If you look at other posts tagged “Seattle Cruise 2017", you’ll see how I did it. It’s all about getting the word out, finding a day that works for everyone, finding a route most like, putting together maps, and following through. If you want something to happen, make it happen.
